A Guide to Homeopathy

Did you know that Homeopathy has been practiced for over two hundred years? Our founder Samuel Hahnemann, a brilliant doctor, discovered the benefits of what we call the 'like for like' principle. Hahnemann observed that something which had the potential to make you very ill somehow was able to help those very same symptoms in a sick person.

To make his remedies safer Hahnemann diluted them many times making the remedy safe to use. He also added a strict shaking process, which he termed 'sucussion' which made the remedy more powerful when treating the condition. To this date homeopathy is still baffling scientists with how it actually works, but the answer is believed to be in the process of the dilution and sucussion and how this affects the physics of the substance.

Since Hahnemanns time to this present day we now have more than 3000 homeopathic remedies at our finger tips. To become a remedy a substance has to be 'proved'. This is when it is given in its diluted form to a group of volunteers - all homepathic remedies are tested on humans NOT animals. The group will then take detailed notes of the symptoms which occur during the time they take the remedy. This allows us to build a picture of the type of symptoms that the remedy will help.
